This fitting is a straight-style inverted flare union made from CA360 brass, selected for its corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability. It has an operating temperature range of -65°F to +250°F, making it suitable for use with liquid petroleum (LP) and natural gas, refrigeration, hydraulic brake, transmission cooler lines, fuel, oil, air, and power steering lines. However, federal law does not allow it to be installed for potable water use in the U.S.A.

The Brake Line Union is built to resist mechanical pullout, allowing it to be assembled and disassembled repeatedly. It is listed with Underwriter's Laboratories for flammable liquid and gas applications, and meets the functional requirements of SAE J512. The deep, correctly cut NPT threads create a tighter seal than straight threads, enhancing the overall quality and performance of the fitting.
